Do not panic – find the answer – make sushi yourself. There is a wide variety of sushi and sushi varieties – from sushi rolls, to vegetarian sushi, to sweet sushi. The recipe we present today is totally different. It’s a variation of the usual – yummy sushi donuts. Who do not like the donuts? That’s why we bring you the recipe for healthy shushi donuts that are not a calorie bomb.

Ingredients for 12 donuts

For the rice you need:

2 cups sushi rice / brown /

1/4 cup of rice vinegar / dark /

2 tablespoons salt

2 tablespoons of sesame oil

For the sushi donuts you need:

fresh tuna

fresh salmon

1 avocado

2 cucumbers

3 leaves Nori

Mix of white and black sesame seeds

Sliced ​​shallots

For serving:

Wasabi

Tamari

Make explanations for donut sushi yourself step by step



  1. To cook the rice: Thoroughly rinse the sushi rice with cold water. Cook the rice according to the instructions of your rice cooker. Our cook needs 90 minutes. If you do not have a rice cooker, boil the rice with 5 cups of water in a saucepan. Let rest for 20 minutes. Cover the pot with a lid and bring the pot to a boil over high heat until the rice slowly swells. Then back to low heat for 10 minutes.
  2. Prepare the fish toppings for the sushi donuts: Meanwhile, cut the fish into slices, as thin as possible. The targeted size is 2.5 cm wide and 2 cm long. Pay attention to which piece of fish you choose. Try to get the right dimensions. If you find cut pieces of fish on the market, it would be great. You need 24 slices of salmon and 24 slices of tuna. Place all slices on a plate, cover with foil and leave in the fridge until needed.
  3. Prepare other toppings for the sushi donuts: Cut the avocado in two, core the avocado and peel it. Cut the avocado into long thin slices and place the slices on a plate. Take the cucumber and cut in half lengthwise. Lay the two halves side by side and cut the cucumber into slices that are 2 cm long. The cucumber contains a lot of water, so put the slices between paper towels and then press on them. Be careful not to crumple the discs. Set the cucumber aside between the paper towels. Cut each Nori leaf into 4 squares.
  4. Season the rice : Once the rice is cooked, remove the pot from the cooker. Transfer the boiled rice to a wide bowl. Gently mix the rice with the vinegar and salt.
  5. The donuts form: You need a pan for donuts. Now lubricate with oil and fill with rice. Press on the rice to make the donut pan full. When the whole pan is filled, turn the pan over on a chopping board. Carefully transfer each donut to a sheet of Nori.
  6. Give the sushi donuts the finishing touch: Divide the donuts visually into 6 areas. First, 2 slices of salmon on the sushi donut, then – 2 slices of tuna, 3 slices of avocado and 3 slices of cucumber. So cover 4/6 from the donut. Now sprinkle the fifth area with the mixture of white and black sesame seeds and leave the sixth area empty.
  7. Garnish: Garnish the sushi donuts with Tamari and wasabi and you can serve the sushi.
