- Magic String – also called rubber thread or elastic thread
- Multipurpose clamp or similar to attach the chain

Step by step instructions
- Cut dads Magic String off (about 2 arm lengths)
- Take the thread double and clamp one end to the fixed base (the two open ends are free)
- Take the left thread once and thread through the hole with the right one
- Now turn the right thread and thread through the resulting hole with the left
- Repeat steps 3 & 4 alternately to the desired length
