With the unicorn muffins the decoration often looks complicated, but here we show that this is not true at all. With some fondant, colorful sugar sprinkles and gold spray you can do real miracles – just be patient and the result will be unique in any case! A variant is to bake muffins to your favorite recipe and then decorate them with horns, ears and sugar pearls. The horn is easily made of white fondant by mixing it with some wheat starch, forming a stem from it and twirling both ends together. Poke the finished horns on a toothpick and let them dry out well for 3-4 hours. If desired, the figures can also be colored – with some food color, to which you are added 2-3 drops of vodka. The ears can also be cut out of fondant and slightly arched with fingers or a modeling tool. Finally, decorate the muffins with whipped cream and put the horn and ears in the middle. Sprinkle with sugar pearls. Finished!

As I said before, we would like to share with you one of our favorite recipes for unicorn muffins ( https://madmoisell.com/ ). For 6 pieces you need the following:
For the dough:
1 cup of flour
2 eggs
0.5 cup of milk
1 cup of sugar
80g butter
1 tsp vanilla sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 pinch of salt
Food Color (Turquoise, Pink and Purple)
For frosting:
220g cream cheese
200g butter, soft
1 tsp vanilla sugar
120g powdered sugar
Food colors (Turquoise, Purple, Pink)
For decorating:
Colorful sugar sprinkles
glitter powder (edible)
Gold spray (edible)
Start by preparing the dough. Stir creamy the butter with the sugar, add the 2 eggs and stir for about 5 minutes. In a separate bowl, mix the flour with the baking powder, salt and vanilla sugar and add the mixture spoonwise to the butter and eggs by stirring constantly. Divide the dough into 3 and color each part in turquoise, pink and purple. Now you have 3 dough balls in different colors that you should pour into the muffin cups to make your muffins look wonderfully colorful at the end. Bake in preheated oven at 200 degrees for 20 minutes. Allow the muffins to cool slightly and then use a pomegranate to make a small indentation in the middle. These fill with sugar sprinkles. Now you can prepare the frosting by mixing the butter with the cream cheese, powdered sugar and vanilla sugar. Divide the frosting into 3 keys and color with the 3 different food colors. Now take a large piping bag and put in the 3 colored frostings together by stroking each color in a lane – just like toothpaste. Decorate the muffins with a little frosting. The last step is to make fondant horns using the process described above. Put the horns in the middle of the muffins, sprinkle with edible glitter powder and you’re done! We wish you good appetite!
